Longevity & Wellness questions
What does NAD+ actually do?
NAD+ is a coenzyme involved in cellular metabolism and DNA repair. Levels decline with age, and supplementation is being studied for energy and recovery.
How often do I dose?
Protocols vary. Your provider will set a schedule — commonly a few times per week during an initial loading phase, then maintenance.
Are results guaranteed?
No. These are wellness protocols with individual variation, and outcomes are not guaranteed for any patient.
More about longevity & wellness
Answers to the questions people most often search about longevity & wellness treatment in the United States.
What is NAD+ therapy?
NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is a coenzyme every cell uses to convert nutrients into energy and to support DNA repair. NAD+ therapy delivers the coenzyme by injection to raise circulating levels, which decline with age.
What are the benefits of NAD+ injections?
Patients commonly report improved energy, mental clarity, sleep quality and recovery. Research into NAD+ and cellular aging is ongoing, and individual outcomes vary. These are wellness protocols, not cures.
Is NAD+ therapy FDA approved?
NAD+ is not an FDA-approved drug for longevity, anti-aging or energy indications. Compounded NAD+ is prepared by a licensed U.S. compounding pharmacy under a provider prescription. Compounded medications are prepared by a licensed U.S. compounding pharmacy and are not FDA-approved products. Treatment is prescribed only if a licensed provider determines it is appropriate for you.
How much does NAD+ therapy cost?
Clinic IV infusions frequently run $300–$800 per session. FaroRx at-home subcutaneous NAD+ protocols are billed as a flat monthly plan including medication, supplies and provider oversight, which is substantially less per month.
Is NAD+ injection safe?
Reported side effects are usually mild and dose-related: flushing, nausea, cramping or injection-site irritation, often reduced by injecting slowly. Your provider reviews your history and sets a conservative starting dose.
How often should I do NAD+ injections?
A typical protocol uses a loading phase of several doses per week for the first weeks, then a maintenance schedule. Your provider sets the exact frequency.
Is at-home subcutaneous NAD+ as good as an IV drip?
IV delivers a large dose at once; subcutaneous dosing delivers smaller amounts more frequently, which many patients tolerate better and can do at home without clinic visits.
What is glutathione and what does it do?
Glutathione is the body's principal intracellular antioxidant, involved in neutralizing oxidative stress and supporting liver detoxification pathways. Levels fall with age, illness and stress.
What are glutathione injections used for?
They are used to support antioxidant capacity, recovery and skin brightness. Evidence for skin-lightening claims is limited, and FaroRx does not market glutathione as a cosmetic bleaching treatment.
Can glutathione be injected subcutaneously at home?
Yes — subcutaneous glutathione is commonly prescribed for at-home use. Your kit includes syringes, alcohol swabs and dosing instructions, plus care-team support for your first injection.
Are glutathione injections safe?
Most patients tolerate them well. Possible effects include injection-site reactions, mild rash or, rarely, allergic reaction. People with asthma should discuss risks with their provider before starting.
Can I take NAD+ and glutathione together?
Many longevity protocols pair them — NAD+ for cellular energy and glutathione for oxidative balance. Your provider will confirm whether combining them is appropriate for you.
Does insurance cover NAD+ or glutathione?
These are generally not covered and are paid out of pocket. HSA and FSA cards are accepted by many patients; itemized receipts are available on request.
How long before I notice a difference?
Some patients notice energy changes within the first two weeks of a loading phase; others take a full 4–8 week cycle. Results vary and are not guaranteed for any patient.
